The Big Green Bus is going to be at 61 Local tonight sometime near 9 o’clock if anyone wants to join me in stopping by for a beer.
This year’s batch of students can tell you all about where they are going, who are they meeting with, and why they decided to become part of the project. I had a chance to check out their new bus, a Greyhound charter which is a lot more accommodating than a school bus, while I was in up for reunions, and they have brought the project a long way in the past five years.
Here’s their web site if you don’t know what I’m talking about — http://thebiggreenbus.org/. Meanwhile I’ll be there thinking back on all my fun times on the bus the summer after graduation, like the time we broke down for five days in Sioux Falls, SD and Viv and I spent 7 straight hours playing Guitar Hero in a Best Buy because that was the most fun/bearable/air-conditioned activity available at the time.
this, with two additional thoughts:
- the bus will be in dc on thursday at jack’s boat house so come to that if you’re in dc and i will nostalgia your face off.
- i submit that the most fun / bearable / air-conditioned activity available in sioux falls was the $3 matinee showing of “stick it.”
